How to position a hammock between 2 points or basis for hammocks correctly?
Date Published: 03/05/2012
Generally, it is always recommended to use metal hook between the hammock and the points. This use reduces damages on the loop of the hammock and also makes the process of untying the hammock from any point or base very easy and quick in any case. Alternatively, there are available ropes (with specifications in kilos) that can be safely used for the placement of the hammock
A) Installation in a Base
The installation in a hammock base is the easiest process. The best way is to use a metal hook between the hammock and the base connector.

B) Installation in Trees
To mount the hammock in trees, first we should find 2 trees at a distance that is convenient to mount the hammock. Empirically we have to choose those trees or trunks of trees able to withstand the total weight. The appropriate height for the ends of the hammock to be tied should be between 1.50 to 1.80 cm depending on the hammock.
We put a rope around each tree trunk (in a spiral) we have chosen to use, at a height of between 1.50 to 1.80 (depending on the hammock) and after tighten it, we make a knot. (For those who are or were Scouts) the reef knot is ideal for this occasion, because it can be easily solved at any moment. Finally we pass the hook with the hammock from the rope that is around the last tree from both sides and the hammock is ready for use. We test the hammock by sitting on it to make sure that the rope is securely tied. When lying on the hammock we should abstain from the ground about 40 cm. (For safety reasons)

C) Wall Mounting
To place a hammock on 2 walls, we should be sure that this part of the wall material is solid and not damaged by moisture or something else. This must be checked by someone who knows. Then a base must be placed with screws on both walls (one for each). (There are several designs that anyone can choose so that the result is aesthetically beautiful). Then using the hooks put the hammock. The hooks allow quick installation at any time.

6) How long withstands a hammock;
The life of a hammock depends on the use that makes the user. Our experience over the years has shown that a hammock does not wear out by time and use, but from the negligence of users. Imagine it as a fabric. If someone leaves a fabric for a long time in the sun, rain, humidity, or if something sharp touches it, then it will be destroyed. The same happens with hammocks. We advise (hence the use of hooks) that when the hammock is not used to be gathered and to take precautions. And at any time when needed by using the hook, it can be easily repositioned. Under these circumstances, a hammock can last for many years.
